Who is tylor starr?
Tylor Starr is the driving force behind a variety of innovative projects and initiatives dedicated to making the world a better place for the non-human animals we share it with.
Growing up in Greeley, Colorado, Tylor’s roots are in punk rock, and his passion for social justice runs deep. Today, he's recognized globally for his tireless work in animal rights, promoting veganism, and challenging speciesism—the harmful belief that humans are superior to other animals. While attending the University of Northern Colorado, Tylor founded Greeley’s first student-led animal rights organization, C.A.R.E. (Colorado Animal Rights Enthusiasts), which set the stage for his lifelong commitment to this cause.
Determined to turn his passion into a career, Tylor made the bold decision to leave college after his sophomore year when he was offered a full-time job at PETA, the world’s largest animal rights organization. As PETA’s Senior Youth Outreach Strategist in Los Angeles, he spent six years empowering young people to take action for animals. Tylor’s voice was further amplified when he was invited to co-host The Chickpeeps, a groundbreaking animal rights podcast created by Evanna Lynch. For three seasons, he sat down with movement leaders to unpack the complexities of animal rights and share the transformative power of vegan living.
From the start of his journey, Tylor has been captivated by radical, underground social justice movements. He was particularly inspired by groups like the Animal Liberation Front, the Earth Liberation Front, and the Stop Huntingdon Animal Cruelty campaign. This passion led him to team up with one of his animal rights inspirations to create Radicals and Revolutionaries, an oral history podcast that dives deep into the history of the Animal Liberation Front and other bold, direct action movements.
Now back in Colorado, Tylor lives with his high school sweetheart and their rescue dog, Roxy. When he's not reading about animals, going to vegan straight edge hardcore shows, or traveling to theme parks, you’ll find him admiring the snow from afar, always looking for new ways to make the world a better place for animals.
